A host family is needed for a female student from Mexico joining the York Catholic family this school year. Open your heart and home and learn about a new culture while teaching your host student about American traditions. Host families receive a dedicated host family coordinator and student advisor, frequent communication with 24/7 availability, and host family orientation and guidance. Host families offer students a separate bedroom, meals, school transportation, and a supportive environment. Fall Practices Open

No Practice Until Paperwork is on File
Students wishing to participate in athletics must submit the following paperwork:
- PIAA Physical Form (dated after June 1, 2017)
- Athlete & Parent Agreement (last page of physical form)
- ImPACT Test
Students wishing to play a fall sport MUST submit the paperwork to the Assistant Athletic Director, Brad Hayek, no later than Wednesday, August 9, at 3 PM to be permitted to start Fall practice. Football paperwork is due Friday, August 4, at 3 PM.
Failure to submit the paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season. For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team. Click here for the proper Physical & Agreement forms. Fall Sports Program
The YC Athletic Association (YCAA) is coordinating the fall sports program, which will be sold during football games, other sports' home games, and through the YC Athletic Office. All-Year Sports Pass
The York Catholic Athletic Association is selling the money-saving All-Year Sports Pass for admission to home Football, Basketball, and Volleyball games. This includes home Varsity, Junior Varsity, Junior High (9th Grade), 7th/8th Grade Football Games; Varsity, Junior Varsity, Junior High (9th Grade), 7th/8th Grade Boys' and Girls' Basketball Games; and Girls' Volleyball Games.

Meet the Teams
Parents and fans are invited to raise the Irish spirit and meet the athletes who will be representing York Catholic on the court, on the course, and on the playing field this fall. Meet the Teams Night will be held Monday, August 28, at 7 PM at the football stadium. Come out and cheer on our teams!

The Athletic Department invites "all hands on deck" on Saturday, August 12, from 7 AM-1 PM to help prep the fields, grounds, and structures for the fall season. Paint brushes, tool boxes, work gloves, and willingness to help are needed. Parents and YC supporters, along with seventh graders and older are needed. This is a service hours opportunity for students.

We have a uniform exchange at York Catholic to assist students who are late admissions or who need financial assistance with uniforms. The exchange is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, from 12-2 PM.

| Changes to PA Immunization Law for All Students |
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is changing school immunization regulations beginning in August 2017. The regulations are intended to ensure that children attending school in PA are adequately protected against potential outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. A child must have the required medically-appropriate vaccines or a plan to complete those vaccines or risk exclusion from school.
Children in grades 7-12 need the following immunizations for attendance:
- 4 doses of tetanus * (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
- 4 doses of diphtheria* (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
- 4 doses of acellular pertussis* (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
- 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given)
- 2 doses of measles, mumps, and rubella (usually given as MMR)
- 3 doses of hepatitis B
- 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity
- 2 doses meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)
- 1st dose is given 11-15 years of age; a 2nd dose is required at age 16 or entry into 12th grade.
- If the dose was given at 16 years of age or older, only one dose is required.
- 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
* Usually given as DTaP or DTP or DT or Td
All students must submit a Certificate of Immunization form by August 25.

| Incoming 11th Grade Physicals |
 The School Health Law of Pennsylvania requires that all children must have a medical examination upon entry into grade 11. A medical examination is also required for those children who have transferred to York into any grade from other states or from other Pennsylvania areas and who have not sent records of previous examinations. Please click here for the School Physical Form to be completed by a private physician. Return the form to the school nurse no later than August 25, 2017. Any student who does not return this form will receive a medical examination by a school physician.

Parents of music and choral students are welcome to attend the York Catholic Music Association meeting on Tuesday, August 8, at 6:30 PM.
The meetings usually last approximately one hour and everyone's input and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. Your help in planning and implementing the efforts of the YCMA are critical.
