What's happening at HF?

We're happy to share that the Food Truck Festival is almost a SELL OUT! There are approximately 100 tickets left and we're giving you first chance to get one before they're gone. See the Eventbrite button below.

Many alumni have let us know they're attending the Food Truck Festival with fellow grads or to show off their alma mater to their children. Whatever your reason for visiting, we can't wait to see you!

There is an important nursing lecture happening this fall (see below!) and a few other events soon to be announced. Thanks for being part of the Family.

Please contact us at [email protected] with questions or feedback.

Habitat for Humanity HF Chapter

Holy Family University Student Engagement shared this wonderful story about our Holy Family University Habitat for Humanity Chapter recently.

"T wo of our amazing Habitaters - Jackie Hagan and Jamie Keba - traveled to Summerville, SC for the second time this year. This trip, however, wasn't to help build another home. Instead, the women visited the site where our 2015 ASB group worked in March. We reported a few weeks back that the new homeowners, the Creel Family, had received the keys to their new Habitat Home.

The Creel fa mily was given another gift when Jackie and Jamie arrived. As an extension of love from our Family in Philadelphia, the Creel family received a HFU housewarming basket. Within the basket, among other great items, was a large, Family-sized HFU blanket. We also sent HFU stuffed animals for their 3 children to enjoy.

We are truly all about Family at HFU. These young women have provided yet another example of how awesome it is to share that sentiment with others.

We continue to send our prayers to the Creel family. May their home always be a place of love, learning, faith, and family!"

In 2001 Sorrel King's daughter Josie died as a result of medical errors. Consumed by grief Sorrel was determined to honor Josie's memory. She and her husband created the Josie King Foundation. Setting out to prevent patients from being harmed or killed by medical errors, she entered a world unknown to her-the health care industry. Sorrel King has become a nationally renowned patient safety advocate. As a public speaker she travels the country spreading her message to hospitals, doctors, nurses, CEOs, board members, medical/ nursing students and more in hopes that Josie's story will inspire change thus creating a better, safer healthcare industry for us all.

Sorrell King was chosen as one of "50 Women Changing the World" by Woman's Day magazine in February 2010 and is the author of "Josie's Story: A Mother's Inspiring Crusade to Make Medical Care Safe."
