The provincial government announced that the new Paradise Intermediate will be built just off McNamara Drive, near the Dianne Whalen Memorial Soccer Complex. Mayor and Council joined Minister Dale Kirby and others for the unveiling of the site location.
Mayor Bobbett said it was an exciting time for the Town of Paradise to have the site selected for the new school "As a vibrant and youthful municipality, the addition of an intermediate school is an important investment in the students and families of Paradise. This school will strengthen our community and ensure that our children have a modern facility where they can continue to learn, grow, and thrive in Paradise," he said.
Paradise Intermediate will accommodate children attending Grades Five to Eight. It will have all of the resources required of an intermediate school with teaching spaces to ensure students meet their full potential, including areas for physical activity, arts and music. Budget 2017 announced $2 million to commence planning and design of the new school. Paradise Intermediate is expected to open during the 2020-21 fiscal year.
