Sunday Radio Matinee: OK Watch-Out 2018 Election Forum

There is much at stake in the 2018 elections already taking shape, according to political insiders and pollsters. Oklahoma Watch hosted a public forum in Oklahoma City on Aug. 29 to discuss pressing issues, candidates and trends surrounding statewide and legislative elections. KGOU brings this forum to our airwaves as our Sunday Radio Matinee on Sept.10 at 12 p.m.

Reveal: Running From Cops, From the Streets to the Courts

In cities across America, people -- most notably African American men -- are on the run, and police are chasing them. On Monday's episode of Reveal, we'll hear an exploration of the consequences for black men who flee from the police through two stories, both set in Baltimore. One story has been covered extensively, that of Freddie Gray, who was arrested and put in a van where he sustained injuries that killed him. But the story of Greg Butler, a young man who took part in protests in Baltimore after Gray's death, has not been heard. Tune in Monday at 8 p.m. for Reveal, from the Center for Investigative Reporting and PRX.

 
NPR Documents The Great American Eclipse in Video
The 2017 total solar eclipse made its way from Oregon to South Carolina, the first time a total eclipse covered such a wide swath of America since 1918. NPR sent 22 videographers to cover the event on Aug. 21; you can see what they saw and hear Americans' reactions in this video.

 
Ticket Giveaway ~ OU Theatre Presents City of Angels

OU's University Theatre kicks off its 2017-18 season with a Tony Award-winning musical, City of Angels. The story moves between the beautiful Technicolor world of Hollywood and the dark shadows of film noir. We have tickets to give away in a random drawing for the Sept. 30 evening performance.
