As the CCM program continues to grow, CMCI is advancing efforts to advocate to various owner groups the need to have a certified CM lead their program or project team. CMCI has already exhibited at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Joint Engineering Training Conference, CII's National Conference, Southern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials annual conference (SASHTO), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (ASHTO) construction subcommittee meeting, the American Public Works Association (APWA) Public Works (PWX) conference, and several others left on the calendar.
These marketing campaigns are strategic in market segments outlined from the responses seen in the CCM Annual Survey you filled out in 2016 and again in 2017. CMCI is using the results to determine other points of interest as well, such as renewing your CCM credentials, and CMCI will be conducting a webinar later this month on the process involved. I certainly hope you take advantage of this webinar as it is CMCI's goal to demystify the renewal process by providing a clear roadmap to recertification.
With nearly 1000 CCM credential holders up for renewal next year, the Recertification Point Provider program will prove worthwhile as CCMs look to maintain their credentials. Upcoming events such as the University of Hartford Construction Institute's '
Principles of Project Management' and the
2017 CMAA National Conference & Trade Show are easy ways to earn recertification points.
Another portion of the 2016 survey addressed the areas in which CMs practice. These results were taken into consideration for the Job Task Analysis and used to help define the outline of future CCM examinations along with the direction of the CM industry.
To our CCM Champions and all of our volunteers, thank you for your support! You are the reason we continue to see tremendous success and growth in the CM certification program.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 CMAA National Conference in Washington, DC.
Sincerely,
Jim Mitchell, CCM
