From all of us at Hart, have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend!

See you on Tuesday...

Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Hart Family and Friends,

It has been a great 2nd week of school.  We have noticed that carpool is moving a bit faster and students are learning their car numbers. Woohoo!

Thank you to all the families who contributed and donated items for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Our hearts and prayers are with the the families affected. Tomorrow is the last day to bring donations.

I am excited to announce that Watchdogs will be beginning soon at Hart! We can't wait to have all of our great Hart dads on campus each day. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon!

We hope everyone enjoys their long weekend. Remember, we have Monday off for Labor Day. It looks like the weather is going to be beautiful!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Monday is a school holiday. We are celebrating Labor Day.
Have a safe and happy day!

A note about attendance -  We are required by the State of Texas to report absences. If your child is going to miss school, please email a [email protected]  with the reason for your absence. Otherwise, Alis is required to follow up with you. We respectfully ask that you please provide doctor and dentists notes when your student returns. We appreciate your support.

Please join us for lunch starting after Labor Day!

We respectfully request No Lunch Guests in the beginning of each new school year.

This allows us time to review procedures of our lunchroom, and encourage your children to make new friends. Teachers will be eating with students all week this week as well.

If there are circumstances where you need to join us for lunch, please don't hesitate to give Lacey a call at 469-742-8200.

Student Birthdays and Class Treats

Please contact your student's teacher to make arrangements for date/time to bring birthday treats for your student. Each individual teacher will have knowledge as to a non-instructional time that is best suited to celebrate.

Please bring/send individual type treats (donuts, cupcakes, cookies) as opposed to goodies that have to be sliced and served.

Prior to choosing treats, please ask the teacher if there are any allergies to be aware of. Additionally, please do not bring treats to share in the lunchroom during lunch as feelings can be hurt when students are inadvertently left out due to seating.
New! Transportation News (Please Read)

Please make all dismissal changes in writing before 2:00 p.m. by emailing [email protected]. Please do not send changes directly or verbally to teachers. Heather will communicate with the teachers once she has heard from you. Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe.

In light of the announcement that we won't have transportation fees, If the information you submitted at Meet The Teacher night isn't accurate, please immediately email your change to [email protected]. Otherwise, we will dismiss your student according to the instructions we have here.

Counselor's Corner

This year, the character cops are looking for students demonstrating  any  of the six pillars of character:
respect citizenship responsibility trustworthiness fairness , and  caring!  If they are caught, they will be handed a red "Hart Character Ticket" that they can write their name on and turn in to one of the 3 drop off locations.  Every Friday, Ms. Moser and Ms. Ross will draw names from each grade level on the announcements and students will earn a trip to the treasure box!

ILLNESS
Currently we are seeing allergies (ragweed is on the rise), strep, and a "summer cold" virus causing fever, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, body aches, and headache and sinus congestion / cough that is lasting from 2-4 days as well (some are not experiencing all of these symptoms).

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment.

We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS
There are a handful of our students that are still missing appropriate documentation of immunizations per Texas State Regulations. Please get these to the school nurse, Allison Wright, ASAP so that your child can continue attending school.

* IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD AN EMAIL OR PHONE CALL FROM ME YET REGARDING MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS YOUR CHILD'S IMMUNIZATIONS SHOULD BE UP TO DATE.

If required immunization documentation is not received (or process of series has not started if full series is required) we may have to delay school attendance until we have appropriate documentation. Please call me (Nurse Alli) with any questions, 469-742-8156.

Thank you for your cooperation!
