Dear Arcadia Titan Parents,
On behalf of our PTO, we would like to welcome all new and returning families to Arcadia High School! We are looking forward to an exciting 2017-2018 year for AHS students.
The PTO is a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and support staff dedicated to the success of our students. We invite you to participate in the AHS community.
The PTO is proud to report that 100% of our resources, both manpower and monetary, are used to support Arcadia's exceptional learning environment. Here is a sampling of what the PTO supports:

SCC Dual Enrollment Registration
Scottsdale Community College's Dual Enrollment
staff will be at AHS Wed, Aug 16, 2017 from 7:30-2:30 to collect registration and payment for spring semester dual enrollment
classes. Your student received registration forms on Wednesday, Aug 9th. If you are planning to enroll your student in a dual enrollment course, this will be the only opportunity to turn in the requisite paperwork at Arcadia.
Please bring with you the following paperwork to register:

Completion of the online Student Admissions Application (If new to taking dual enrollment classes; you will be provide an SCC College ID)

SCC Dual Enrollment Registration Form (Blue form with course numbers & attached test scores if needed)
- Completion of the Financial Responsibility and Consent for Students Under the Age of 18 (Back side of the blue registration form; requires parent/guardian and student signatures)
- Copy of a government issued ID (Passport, Driver's License, State Issued ID Card, or Birth Certificate as well as High School ID)
- Form of payment (Check made out to Scottsdale Community College or debit/credit card)
After the
August 16th pick up at Arcadia, all registration forms and payment will need to be taken to the SCC Admissions Office by
September 25, 2017.

National Honor Society
National Honor Society has their
first meeting on Thursday, August 17, in Mrs. Stark's room during lunch. All members please try to make this important meeting!

Speech & Debate
The Arcadia Speech and Debate team will have its
first meeting on Friday 8/18 at lunch in Mr. Guy's room 6269. We are planning the first half of our season and our events to participate in. We are looking for new team members who would like to participate. Speech and Debate has competitions throughout the year between September and March. We normally will compete once a month. There are over 20 different events to choose from. Please come if you are interested in being a part of Arcadia's team.

Robotics
Students who are interested in Robotics please listen carefully. There is an official class that meets after school from 2:40-3:33 in room 6118 with Mr. Hankins. You will earn a credit towards graduation as well as learn how to apply engineering principals to solve real world problems. See your counselor or Mr. Andrews for more details and to sign up.

AHS Student Film Selected for 2017 Film Festival
The Arcadia student film "Orientation" is selected for showing at the Fifth Annual Jerome Film Festival,
September 7-10, 2017
. The film was directed and edited by Jacob Staudenmaier, written by Lindsay Formica (sound production), and Heather Degroote (director of photography). The students are enrolled in Advanced Film-making taught by ANN & Film Instructor Eric Luse.
The film involves a timid man who overcomes his anxiety while navigating his way through an unusual job interview. The Jerome Film Festival was recently selected by MovieMaker Magazine as among the "Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World". More information about the Jerome Film Festival can be found at
