This seasonal newsletter includes information about upcoming psychodrama and drama therapy offerings, a Service Spotlight highlighting the work of a New England practitioner, a Vintage Moreno video, as well as articles and announcements relevant to the field.

UPCOMING OFFERINGS
OPEN PSYCHODRAMA SESSIONS
The Psychodrama OPEN SESSION is instructional, experiential and low key - a great way to experience the greatness of Psychodrama within a safe setting. Though therapeutic value is often felt from the experience, Open Sessions are not psychotherapy sessions and the director is not present in the role of psychotherapist. The purpose of the Open Session is for participants to experience the Psychodramatic method as an introduction. All experience levels are welcome.

True Story Theater performs and teaches a style of improvisation theater called Playback Theatre in which audience or group members tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot.  By inviting people to share their stories and transforming them spontaneously into theater, True Story Theater mission promotes social healing. Their events create a respectful atmosphere where every voice can be heard and any story told - however ordinary or extraordinary, difficult or joyful.

Happy 50th Anniversary to Omega Theater!
Artistic Director, Omega Theater/Theater Workshop Boston (since 1967), Co-Director Omega Transpersonal Drama Therapy Certificate Program. She is regarded as a pioneer in drama therapy. Ms. Linden is adjunct faculty, Lesley University, awarded 1st Teaching Excellence award NADTA, 'fellow' of ASGPP, and studied with the Morenos, late 1960s &1970s. Created numerous award winning plays. Her artistic work, subject of half hour film, PBS series, Artists In America. Trained hundreds of professionals in the arts, mental health, education, organizations/corporations. She is a Transpersonal psychotherapist, Management consultant, Sufi meditation teacher/ guide, since 1971. Private practice. Author of numerous articles, chapters about her work. PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES IN PSYCHODRAMA AND DRAMA THERAPY - Offered by Omega Theater in Boston 
Current Approaches
November 10 - 12, 2017

This course is an introduction to Psychodrama and Drama Therapy, offering the learner the historical and philosophical foundations of the field as well as its sources in theatre and counseling/psychotherapy. Numerous current theories and principles will be explored through lecture, discussion, readings and experiential learning. Students will facilitate various training exercises using these various approaches. Participants in this professional training will gain a rich understanding of how creativity and creative process builds an integrative foundation for healing, transformation, human development and spiritual practice.

NARRADRAMA WITH PAM DUNNE - Offered by Omega Theater in Boston 
October 31, 2017 (can count towards the above course or be taken separately)

This interactive workshop offers creative ways to get started in using narradrama, exploring the eight-step narradrama process and providing students with the tools to take these methods into their own life and work.

Our certificate program is designed to meet the standards of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) as an 'Alternative Track Training' program that can lead towards a credential as a RDT-Registered Drama Therapist through the NADTA. It is also designed with opportunities for Psychodrama students to earn hours toward the ASGPP Board of Examiners requirements toward the CP-Certified Practitioner.
