Cheri L. Wood
Head of School
|
The school has weathered the heat well and classes are in full swing! We look forward to Back-to-School night this week. I wanted to update you on our facility projects.
- The roof and gutter repair is complete and went smoothly over the summer.
- The IDEAS Center will be getting new signage and outdoor paint to enhance the area and space.
- The Gunther auditorium will be getting new lighting installed in the next month or two.
- The Fund-a-Need for the lunch area remains in progress. We have reviewed the need for concrete and permanent shade/rain structure versus a shade only structure. Since the job is a little more complex, it may require two separate phases. The Board of Trustees will be reviewing this in the coming month and I will update you.

Connelly Communication
Dear Connelly Families,
There are several ways we communicate with our Connelly students, parents, and other members of the Connelly community. Two of the most used and relied upon methods of communication are via our weekly e-newsletter (Connelly at a Glance) and our telephone message system (Blackboard Connect). We have published several issues of Connelly at a Glance and have sent several telephone messages since the beginning of the school year. If you are only receiving one but not the other, kindly let us know as it is important for you to be on both lists. Also, if you would like to add more family members to receive Connelly at a Glance, please contact us via the email link below and provide us with their name and email address. We will also be communicating this message via telephone to reach those who currently are not receiving this newsletter. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey Victims
|
|
Starting Tuesday, September 5, God Squad will be having a fundraiser for the victims and rescue workers of Hurricane Harvey. Please come with your dollar bills so we can make a difference in helping those devastated by this flooding. One donut (one ticket) will be $3.00; two donuts (two tickets) will be $5.00. ANY purchase will automatically put them into a drawing for a bigger prize. When donuts get here only those with tickets will get them, so hold on to those tickets. Of course, we'll also take straight monetary donations if donuts aren't your thing. Also we'll draw a lucky ticket number next week to see who'll get an extra prize as well. Let's show Texas how the Connelly Community bands together to do our part for our Texan brothers and sisters. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Another way we will be helping victims of Hurricane Harvey is by partnering with the non-profit organization, Operation Gratitude
(www.operationgratitude.com). Operation Gratitude will be collecting items that are in dire need, and will be shipping these items to those areas the week of September 10. All items must be delivered to their facility in Chatsworth by September 8, which means we need to collect items quickly. For any questions, please contact Mrs. CeCe Lorthioir at [email protected].
We are asking the following grade levels to bring in specific items.
- Freshman: towels (any size), travel size body wash
- Sophomore: snack bars (breakfast/protein), jerky
- Junior: socks, hands/feet warmer
- Senior: diapers, wipes
We will have four labeled large boxes for collection on campus. We will collect items until end of day Wednesday, September 6. Mrs. Lorthioir will drive the collected items to Chatsworth on September 7 to Operation Gratitude for shipping.
