I hope everyone had a great summer and are already working on your art for this year's shows and venues!
Our past June show at the fairgrounds was another successful show and we will be doing it again next June, however, we are developing something new that we believe will make this show even bigger and better. Watch for the details coming soon in our newsletters. Also, the Boulder County Fair art show was fantastic and LAG has agreed to do it again next July. I hope you are all planning on being in our fun Member's Show at the Great Frame Up in March...details coming soon.
LAG monthly meetings will now be held an hour earlier! It's the same 2nd Wednesday of every month, but come at 5:30pm for our social hour and announcements, and our Guest Artist or Activity Event will start at 6pm to about 7:00 or 7:15pm. We have a great line-up for the year! Starting Sept. 13th we will have Mark Ludy as our guest artist. He is an amazing children's book author and illustrator and we are very excited that we could get this very sought-after professional artist!! Come early to get a good seat! Watch for our newsletters and bi-weekly emails for the list of future guests and events, not to be missed!
Your $25 membership dues will be the best $25 you ever spent! You will continue to enjoy all the free venues we are invited to be in every year, participate in our annual art shows to win awards and sell your art, attend our educational and fun art meetings, and of course, meet new and old friends who share mutual passion for the arts!

Great Frame Up (430 Main St. Longmont)
Born in 1973 in Seattle, Washington. The youngest in a family of 5. He grew up in the shadow of others with a doodling obsession and an imagination daily fueled. At the early age of 18 he recognized his calling to be a 'communicator' - be it through his pen, his drawing or his voice. With this he set out to use his talent and give what he had to the world. Today he continues to create stories, tell stories and bring them to life through illustration. Touching hearts, stirring hearts and challenging the status quo of thought and action.
He's married and has three children. They travel extensively and seem to find adventure at every turn. Still fueling the imagination ...and that of his kids.

Celtic Fest Art Show and Competition
Frederick CO | Sept 30, 2017
September 30th 2017 will be the first annual St. Brigit's Celtic Fest in Frederick Colorado, a day-long festival of music, food, art, dancing, and games, to benefit several local charities.
Brigit, along with Patrick, is one of the patron saints of Ireland, and one of things celebrated about her is her patronage of the arts. So one of the features of Celtic Fest will be an art show and competition, open to artists of all age groups.
Entries can be in any medium, and must have a Celtic theme, however that speaks to you. Sources of inspiration might be Irish or Scottish landscapes, Celtic music, legends, or history. Celtic Fest especially encourages you to research Celtic and Irish symbols for inspiration for your pieces.
Each artist may enter up to 3 pieces | $5 per piece.
Entry deadline: Monday, Sept 25

Be part of a great market for a good cause.
Accepting Studio and Guild Submittals Now!
For over 40 years the Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District Auxiliary has sponsored Boulder Mountain Handmade Market to raise funds for our fire district. Funds from the event provide equipment, training, and provisions for our volunteer fire fighters. We hope you'll consider participating - and share this information with other artisans you know.
Our Market is well-known for its focus on handmade and original items created by visual artists, crafters, photographers, potters, jewelers, and fiber artists, as well as specialty food and beverage makers from across the foothills area. This year's event will be held at the Elks Lodge on 28th Street, one of Boulder's largest in-town event spaces.
We invite area guilds, studios, and art organizations to join us by reserving a space for their members to exhibit their work.
