We thought about hosting a benefit class to raise funds for Hurricane Harvey victims, but we decided an ongoing drive would be better serve everyone.

We are accepting donations at the studio now. The best times to drop off are during our classes in the evening or weekends when someone is at the front desk. We plan to drop off the donations tomorrow (9/1) and more as long as it's needed, but bring some tonight if you can.

Items needed now: moving boxes, diapers, baby wipes, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and nonperishable food including baby formula. The only clothing items that are needed at this time are packs of underwear and socks.

We will be offering a FREE YOGA CLASS when you donate. Redeem your free class pass at the front desk during an evening class or weekend class. We will credit accounts with complimentary yoga classes for your generous donations. If you don't need the free class, you may gift it to a new student.

There is more information online on how you can help Harvey victims if you don't want to go through the studio.

Thank you,

Ricky Tran

What will you learn in the upcoming teacher training with Ricky Tran?
  1. Refining your personal practice with Ricky's signature blend of BREATH (CORRECT BREATHING), BANDHAS (LOCKS), DRISHTI (GAZE/FOCUS), ASANA (POSTURES), PHYSICAL ALIGNMENT, ENERGETIC ACTIONS, and VINYASA (BREATH INITIATED MOVEMENT)
  2. POSTURES: Breaking down actions and alignment from general to specific to your body. We will spend a lot of time working towards breakthroughs in standing postures, forward bends, backbends, twists, hip opening/lotus, arm balances, inversions and more.
  3. IN ADDITION: Guest Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher Wayne Krassner traveling from Mexico for a weekend workshop in October (included in teacher training).
  4. Basic anatomy as it pertains to the yoga practice.
  5. Intro to Sanskrit language and related yoga philosophies.
  6. Yogic cleansing techniques/purifications and 8 Limbs of Yoga.
  7. Various breathing and meditation techniques.
  8. How to correct and assist students, verbally and physically.
  9. How to sequence a class intelligently for a desired goal or effect.
  10. Due to the small group size, there will be plenty of opportunities to practice being in front of the room and refining your presentations skills. There's only one way to get over fear of speaking in front of a group, and that by getting in front of a group!
  11. Learn about the business of yoga from someone who has been in the industry for over a decade with experience on all sides of the business.
  12. At minimum, you will leave this training with a solid personal practice and able to teach a one hour yoga class for all levels.
