Next Up On the Frontiers of Cleantech Innovation
BEST FEST 2017 is happening in just a couple of weeks on September 14th in Portland, and I'm excited to see many of our companies, collaborators, supporters, and friends at our annual conference. You can reserve tickets
here.
Our theme,
Frontiers in Cleantech Innovation, inspires thoughts of what's next - not just in terms of innovative technologies, but also for Oregon BEST. Our Board of Directors just ratified a strategic plan for our next several years, built around a charter to catalyze companies, capital, and markets. We'll be sharing more details as we build out our plans, but expect a continued focus on helping bring new clean technologies to market with some new, expanded activities from our team. Stay tuned.
Onward!

Tapping Water Pipes for Clean Power
New technology generates electricity from water pressure
InPipe Energy is receiving support from Oregon BEST to speed commercialization of a system that generates electricity from water flowing through pipes beneath cities, agricultural fields, and factories. Although water agencies install flow-control valves inside pipes to reduce pressure to usable levels, the energy generated by constricting the flow is not captured. InPipe's technology reduces water pressure and also generates electricity. CEO
Gregg Semler (

speaking on a panel about energy innovations that address climate change at
