ANNOUNCES STAFFING CHANGE

Greenbelt, MD  (September 5 , 2017)  - The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA), announced the resignation of President & CEO Jina Etienne, CPA, CGMA.  Ms. Etienne will continue to work with Steven L. Harris, CPA, CGMA, Chairman, Board of Directors of NABA, Inc. and the national headquarter team through September 15, 2017.

Ms. Etienne joined NABA in September 2015 from AICPA where she served as Director of Taxation, Tax Ethics & Professional Standards in AICPA's Tax Section.

"We want to thank Jina for her service and wish her well as she pursues new opportunities," said Harris. "Our Board of Directors and national staff remain committed to the continued growth of the association and strengthening NABA's position as a leading voice for diversity and inclusion for accounting and finance professionals."

In 2014, the NABA Board of Directors strategically developed a foundation to increase its membership, including building a corporate staff that would drive the transformation. This year, a record of approximately 2300 registrants attended the NABA National Convention & Expo in June, a nearly fifteen percent increase in convention attendance over the past three years.

Lauren Yost, Chief Operating Officer and Kim Wilson, Chief Programs Officer for NABA will serve as the day-to-day points of contact while the Board of Directors begins the search for Ms. Etienne's replacement. The national staff will continue to report directly to officers Yost and Wilson who will report to Herschel Frierson, a National Director on the NABA Board of Directors and head of the Board Committee for Organizational Effectiveness and Personnel during the transition phase.
