HFU Workshops for Parents tonight in TLC & Mall Auditorium
|
|
Which HFU for Parents will you attend tonight (Sept. 6)? Both begin at 7 p.m.
A+ English: Pointers for Helping Students Make the Grade
in the TLC
Wondering how to help your freshmen and sophomores find success in English class? Join H-F faculty members as they translate the English Department's common systems, vocabulary, and rubrics into easy-to-understand terms. You will get first-hand practice with such essential skills as annotating a short passage, labeling an essay, and even exploring Google Classroom. As a result of attending this workshop, you should feel more confident about providing assistance to your teens at home, and be ready to engage in more informed conversations with their English teachers, as well.
College Planning for Seniors & Parents in the Mall Auditorium
Parents and seniors, join H-F's college counselors -
Kevin Coy
&
Brad Kain
- along with a representative from the
Illinois Student Assistance Commission
(ISAC) for a discussi
on about H-F's college counseling program, the college application timeline and the financial aid process. You will also get a first-hand look at a variety of post-secondary options and gain insight into selecting the right college.

H-F Alumna named Next Fitness Star
|
Congratulations to
Betina Gozo, '05, a Nike Master Trainer, for winning Women's Health magazine's 2017 Next Fitness Star contest! She was one of five finalists, who were narrowed down from hundreds of submissions for the competition. She was selected the winner by a combination of votes from readers and fans, as well as input from Women's Health judges. She will soon star in her own online fitness series and guidebook, and will, hopefully, make a repeat visit to H-F again this fall!
