Pesticide Training Dates Now Available
Pesticide Training and Testing dates for the 2017/2018 season are now available!  

In Kentucky, it is required that any person handling, applying or supervising the use of pesticides as part of that person's job must be certified and licensed by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.  Non-commercial pesticide applicators must complete 12 hours of training over a three-year period to remain certified.  T2 is offering training and testing in Categories 3, 5 and 6 and continuing education for Categories 3, 5, 6 and 18.

Category 3, 5 and 6 Training and Testing
In order to prepare participants to take the certification exam, T2 offers six hours of classroom instruction, and at the completion of the training, the Department of Agriculture will administer the exam.  

Fee: 
$130 for one category
$140 for two categories
$150 for three categories

February 1, 2018 - Fairfield Inn North, Lexington


Category 3, 5, 6 and 18 Continuing Education Training
These training courses provide three general hours and one specific hour for each of the four categories (3, 5, 6 and 18), for a total of seven hours of training if the individual holds certification in all four categories.  This workshop is for those individuals who are currently licensed and who need continuing education credit in order to keep their applicator's license.  

Fee: $99

Space Available for Local Governments in ASAP Training
Horizontal Curve Alignment Training
Horizontal Curve Alignment Training will train local transportation employees to understand the importance of proper horizontal alignment signing, utilize the current technology and record the data so that it is uniform across the state.

Traffic and Safety Academy
The Traffic and Safety Academy is designed to offer local governments training to reduce roadway departure and pedestrian fatalities.  Specific topics include low-cost safety improvements, examining crash data, risk management, regulations and guidelines and roadway departures.

November 8-9: James E. Bruce Convention Center, Hopkinsville

Both training programs are only available to local government agencies.

Thanks to funds provided through the ASAP grant, local governments can attend either training at no cost.

All tow operators that respond to incidents need to take the TIM training before December 31, 2017.

Due to General Order OM-B-13 published by the Kentucky State Police (KSP), effective April 1 all wrecker service owners and drivers shall complete the National Traffic Incident Management Responder Training (TIM) in order to remain on KSP's wrecker log, no later than December 31, 2017. Those wrecker services not in compliance will be immediately removed from the log for three years. In order to adhere to this order, the Kentucky Transportation Center, Technology Transfer Program has created a wallet card for those that have taken the classroom version with the T2 Program, to show that you have been TIM trained.

Qualify Now as a Work Zone Technician or Supervisor
Any agency obstructing traffic must show they have trained personnel, either as a supervisor, technician, or flagger, depending upon the employee's assignment.  T2 offers this training through the Work Zone Traffic Control Employee Qualification Program.  

The following classes are available for anyone new to this training or anyone who took the training 5 years ago and needs requalification.  

Work Zone Traffic Control Technician
This course is intended for individuals working for governmental agencies, utilities, and private highway industry who place, monitor, and maintain traffic control devices on public roadways in Kentucky.  Fee: $185

Work Zone Traffic Control Supervisor
This course is intended for individuals who supervise traffic control technicians and other field personnel and who are responsible for implementing the Traffic Control Plan.  Traffic Control Technician is a prerequisite for this training. Fee: $185
