2018 Student Alumni Board Representatives

We are pleased to announce that Isabelle Bettinger, Maddie DeAscentis, Max Dreisbach, Davis Friedman and Carly Shocket have been selected to represent the senior class as Student Alumni Board Representatives.

The Student Alumni Board Representatives serve as liaisons between the Alumni Board, Alumni Office and the student body. They foster relationships between alumni and students and help develop and manage events that bring alumni together, such as the Career Forums. During their senior year, the student reps attend all Alumni Board meetings and serve on committees as needed.

The student reps support Columbus Academy financially through participation in the Annual Fund and, following graduation, act as class agents until their five-year reunion. As class agents, they work with the Alumni Office to collect class notes three times a year, help with class fundraising solicitations and assist in organizing reunions.
School News

Columbus Academy opened its 107th school year with the tradition of Convocation, during which John Exline '64 was recognized as he began his 50th year of teaching at the school. Surprising him for the celebration were his family and classmates, as well as a group of retired faculty. Head of School Melissa Soderberg presented John with a compass so he will always remember that Columbus Academy is his true north. In addition, the dining hall now has a wall-sized banner with a photo collage showing his decades at CA. John was also presented with a dedicated parking space and a custom sign to mark the spot. Click the following links for more coverage: photos, video. Stay tuned as we continue to celebrate John's 50th year!

In a highly anticipated matchup against Bishop Ready, Robin Miller's squad dominated all aspects of the game to pull off a 31-0 victory. The team followed that up with a 42-0 win at Linden last Friday and is currently ranked fourth in the state for Division V. Academy junior Callista Popp was the Field Hockey Athlete of the Week in this past Saturday's Columbus Dispatch! She scored another goal in an 8-0 win at Dayton Oakwood over the weekend as Anne Horton's Vikings improved to 4-0.
