Welcome to our Unity of Columbus Newsletter.
On Healing and Wholeness
Last week saw the transition of New Thought icon Louise Hay. For this month of September, as we celebrate the Power of Order, we honor Louise Hay with a series of articles on Wholeness.
In her first book,
Heal Your Body, Louise writes:
"The point of power is in the present moment... right here and right now in our minds. It doesn't matter how long we've had negative patterns, an illness, a rotten relationship, lack of finances, or self-hatred. We can begin to make a change today."
Harnessing the power of the NOW moment in your life is the key to transformation - the foundation for a true, lasting healing experience. I invite you to affirm for yourself this week:
"I AM aligned, here and now, with the perfect Order of the Universe. I am in the Flow of Life. My body is an expression of the Divine: perfect circulation, perfect digestion, effortless respiration. I am in tune with God; I am whole and well."
Remember, dear friends, peace (of mind and body) begins with you. I invite us to continue holding the individuals and families affected by Hurricane Harvey in prayer. We are united in Divine Love, and that Love is expressed beautifully in the hearts and hands of those who are working together for those who have been displaced.
Here are a few ways you can help in the hurricane relief effort:
- Donate to the Red Cross: redcross.org (or text "HARVEY" to 90999 on your mobile device);
- Reach out with a generous love offering to AmeriCares.

About Process Painting:
Process painting is a tool for mindfulness and self-discovery that is facilitated in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Free from comparison and critique, we embark on a boundless journey into the unknown, with the focus placed on the experience rather than the finished product. There are no mistakes, and no painting experience is necessary.
We recognize that every person is a creative being with unlimited potential and that when we show up and tap into that creativity, our unique expressions emerge naturally. While this is not art therapy in the traditional sense, the process itself can be therapeutic.
Participants speak of a deeper connection to themselves and a greater acceptance of their experiences. The process is healing on many levels.
Being open to growth and facing one's fears leads to joy and a sense of accomplishment.
About the Facilitator:
 Jenny Hahn earned a BFA in illustration from the Kansas City Art Institute and exhibits out of her studio in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District. She has practiced process painting since 1999, mentoring under Sarah Oblinger of Paint Or Die/Studio Exanimo. In 2005 she opened Breathing Color Studio out of her home, and in 2011 co-founded
Creative Nectar Studio with Stephanie Gray. Jenny has studied insight meditation (Buddhist Vipassana) under the guidance of dharma teacher Robert Brumet since 2000 and weaves the mindfulness teachings and gentle body awareness into her workshop facilitation. She is also an occasional yoga instructor and a founding member of the Unity Artist Coalition at Unity Village, MO. View her paintings at

The Nursery and The Children & Youth Ministries are looking for super awesome volunteers who have a heart for all children and the desire to joyously share the Consciousness of Christ to our future generations! If that sounds like you, come and be a part of our growing team!
Potential candidates must be willing to commit to a minimum of a one (1) year period of service, able to serve at least twice
(2x) a month, and can pass the FBI & BCI Background checks.
Candidates must also be available for an interview and training. Applications will be available this Sunday, so grab one and let the good times grow!!!
