Radio República conducted a radio contest coinciding with the subject matter of "Vivir en la Verdad". Titled "Mensaje a mi Hermano Militar", Cubans submitted a message to the Cuban military from the Cuban people. In spite of censorhsip, dozens of Cubans from all over the island participated. Their messages carried a common theme, encouraging members of the Cuban military to stop aiding the Castro regime and think instead of the Cuban people. The candor of these participants when addressing the Cuban military is very moving and inspirational, especially for those doing everything possible to see their desire for freedom become reality.
