Congratulations Mrs. Fields
August Teacher of the Month
MP Profile

Meet Mrs. Holly Spires! She is in her third year as the drama and dance teacher at Mary Persons. She lives in Macon with her husband, Byron, and her son, Landon, and attends Mulberry Methodist Church. Their favorite places to eat are Ingleside Village Pizza and El Sombrero. They consider themselves "foodies"! She enjoys spending time with family and friends. The best part about her job is watching students discover their hidden talents and become confident as artists. If she could go back in time, she would love to be her 5 year-old self again and see family members who have passed away and enjoy a care-free life of cereal and cartoons.

When asked what she would do with extra time if she didn't have to sleep, she said that she "would still sleep...lol?" When people come to her for help they usually want her to listen to their audition song, or for listening & counseling or for college recommendations. Her Papa has influenced her life the most, she said "he taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and that a smile and kind word can 'make it all better'".  Her "to-do list" keeps her up at night. She started reading when she was 3 years old. In college, she worked at Little Caesars making pizzas. In 1995, she met Glenn Close in New York City when she was in Sunset Blvd. Mrs. Spires says she has zero "poker face" and that her face is a "scrolling marquis". "I cannot hide my feelings!" She loves to eat and take naps!

Federal student aid includes Federal Pell Grants, federal student loans, and work-study opportunities. In addition to determining eligibility for federal student aid, many states, private organizations, colleges, and career schools rely on information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for nonfederal sources of aid.
