EEO-1 Compensation Data Requirement Stayed - Deadline for 2017 Report Remains March 31, 2018
 
As anticipated, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), on August 29, 2017, issued an immediate stay of the of the pay data collection aspects of the EEO-1 form added near the end of the Obama Administration. The deadline for the remaining portion of the 2017 Report is still March 31, 2018.
 


2017-2018 Holiday Practices Survey Underway - Sales Survey Due September 8th! 

EANE has just launched it 2017-2018 Holiday Survey which gauges company holiday practices for the end of 2017 and into the 2018 calendar year.  The survey is only six questions in duration and very easy to complete.
 


IRS 2017 ACA Draft Forms Now Available!

With all of the talk of attempts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, employers should not lose focus that the ACA remains the law of the land.  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) just provided us with a friendly reminder of that as the agency has release draft versions of Forms 1094 and 1095. 
  


 
RI to Raise Minimum Wage to $10.10 Per Hour Effective January 1st
 
Among the many facets of the Rhode Island budget bill that was signed into law by Governor Gina Raimondo, was a provision to raise the minimum wage from its current $9.60 per hour level to $10.10 per hour effective January 1, 2018.

IRS Information Letters Address Effect of Executive Order on Employer Shared Responsibility and Individual Mandate
 
The IRS's Office of Chief Counsel has released four information letters on employer shared responsibility and the individual mandate under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).



 
Massachusetts Is the Latest to Enact Pregnancy Workplace Law
 
Following in Connecticut's footsteps, Massachusetts became the latest state to enact a law that expands the rights and protections of pregnant workers.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (Chapter 54 of the Acts of 2017 and   which can be found here) will take effect on April 1, 2018.   

 


The President's Parental Leave Budget Impact
 
Recently, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) review of the President's FY 2018 Parental Leave proposal projects it would result in an increase in direct federal spending of approximately $22 billion over the 10 year budget period.
 


Back to School!   

The summer has ended and kids are back in school.  Social media is full of posts of parents either thrilled to see their little darlings return to school or sad to see them go.  Back to school brings the need to take time to attend parent/teacher conferences, field trips or other school related activities.
