9/11 MEMORIALmemorial911
Reflect, Remember and Honor Milton High School will come together with the community to set up our annual memorial on the front lawn to honor the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Be a part of preparing for this special event by joining us to put out the flags with our local Milton Fire and Police Officers on Wednesday, September 6, after school from 3:30PM until 9:00PM. High school and middle school students are welcome, as well as any community members who would like to take part in this activity. Junior, Ben Reilly, and his brother, Freshman, Jim Reilly, along with their family, are privileged to be organizing the memorial events again this year. This is a Milton High School PTO sponsored event.

The Memorial Service will be a student led event which will be held before class on Monday, September 11 at 7:45AM. It will be attended by our Milton Fire and Police Department Officers. We will celebrate the lives of some of the men, women and first responders by having some of our very own Milton Seniors share their stories. Everyone is welcome to attend.

DEVICE DEPLOYMENTDEVICES
Many students have received their Microsoft Surface 3 devices. For those students who have not received a device, ensure you have done the following:
  1. Completed the DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP requirement. Contact Mr. Sheridan (sheridanm@fultonschools.org or 470-254-2889) to complete
  2. Student and parents MUST COMPLETE the DEVICE USER AGREEMENT. This process can be done digitally or by printing and signing the hard copy and returning to the Media Hub.
  3. Students will be able to pick up their device during their scheduled LUNCH period.  Any questions regarding device pick can be answered by Mrs. Hutchison (hutchisonp@fultonschools.org) (470)254-7138 in the Media Hub.
QUESTIONS/CONTACT
Mark Sheridan ( sheridanm@fultonschools.org) (470)254-2889
Patti Hutchison ( hutchisonp@fultonschools.org) (470)254-7138

PRINT & COMPLETE A HARD COPY
You also have the option of printing, signing, and returning the Device User Agreement Form HERE.
Students who do not complete the ZippSlip process MUST bring the completed/signed Device User Agreement Form with them to the Media Hub on the date they are scheduled to receive their device with their Language Arts' class.  Students who DO NOT have an electronic signature or hard copy of the Device User Agreement WILL NOT receive a device at that time. There will be a future distribution date (TBD) for students who do not receive devices.

INSURANCE
Parents can choose to purchase insurance for the Microsoft Surface. Many insurance companies ask families to mail devices directly to the company for repair/replacement. Parents MAY ONLY use insurance companies with repair centers authorized by the device manufacturer, to avoid voiding our warranties.

Fulton has looked into insurance companies that have been popular with families and confirmed that as of June 2016: WORTH AVE GROUP uses authorized repair centers for ALL of our devices so this may be an option for families.

PSAT/SAT DAY - OCTOBER 11PSAT
9-11 GRADE STUDENTS - THE PTSA IS COMING!PSATINFO
The PSAT is a key step in your child's journey to college! On Wednesday, October 11, all 9th-11th grade students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT, a test of the skills and knowledge essential for college and career that students are learning in class.

We encourage your child to take advantage of the many benefits the PSAT/NMSQT offers:
  • Connects students to colleges and universities across the country, and to scholarship organizations.
  • Prepares students for the new SAT® and college and fuels practice recommendations on Khan Academy®.
  • Matches students with AP® courses that make the most of their academic strengths. AP classes can provide an edge in the admission process, and an opportunity to earn college credit.
Please use the below links to help your student better prepare for the PSAT. If you have any questions, please se Mrs. Morrison in suite 1360.

FREE PSAT/SAT PREP FROM KHAN ACADEMY
The College Board and Khan Academy® have partnered to make practicing easy and personal. At Khan Academy, you can access thousands of questions approved by the College Board, take four official SAT practice tests, and create personalized study plans based on your results.
Taking an SAT practice test is good practice for the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 because the assessments measure the same skills and knowledge in ways that make sense for different grade levels.
