Our customer chose to upgrade from the Wilson Alexia to the Alexia II's without an audition. Quite a leap of faith, but it was certainly among the best decisions he has made.

The most important and defining component in any system is the room - the one thing we have the least control over. Until recently the only way to get the room/speaker interface optimized was to physically treat the room and move the loudspeaker around until you found the best (compromised) placement. Modern room correction technology goes way beyond physical treatment and moving speakers around. Still, the physical properties of the room and the quality of the speaker matter greatly: the less correction you have to apply, the less you make the software work, the better the outcome. So we have this technology, but we don't want to use it like a sledgehammer. We were fortunate in the calibration of the new Wilson Alexia II. It was a near perfect match for the room and the gentle corrections applied were mostly in the name of optimization rather than correction.
