The summer is flying by...
Is it really the beginning of August? It seems like yesterday we were prepping for the Vermont Quilt Festival - now we're getting kids ready for sports practices and the upcoming school year. At least the sun is shining - we had too many days of rain and gray days. A customer told us just the other day that she was getting a lot of sewing done this summer, since it was too rainy to do anything else...that's the spirit!
Judy is finishing up the fall class schedule - we'll let you know as soon as it's ready to go! We can tell you we'll be offering some new classes - we hope you like them! The first is "Introduction to Quilting", a new beginner's class. You'll learn basic sewing skills, then move onto machine piecing, with lots of work making blocks. At the end, you'll learn finishing techniques.
Attention Fidget Quilters: Occasionally, the fabric sales reps bring us out-of-date fabric samples for our Helping Hands program. On a recent visit, our Kaufman rep brought us a bunch of textured and unique fabrics for fidget quilts. If you're part of a group making fidget quilts, and you're in need of fabric, please contact
Cindy at the shop, or e-mail her at cindy@yankeepridequilts.com. She's got some great stuff for you!

Fall 2017 Mystery Quilt Class
Judy's been hard at work on the upcoming Mystery Quilt class, and the fabric and yardage requirements are right
here! She says, "This will be a classic block and lattice quilt. The blocks are stars, and the two background fabrics form a pattern behind the main design." Students will be using Studio 180's Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper, and Corner Pop rulers.
To sign up, call the shop, stop in, or click
here to go to our web site. We hope you're as excited to get started as we are!
Fall 2017 Mystery dates: September 23, October 7 & 21, November 4 & 18, December 2.

Moda Block of the Week
All those interested in showing off your blocks, or coming in with Blockhead questions, we'll be at the shop Saturday, August 19, right at 10 a.m. We have a great time chatting about our blocks!

Diamonds in the Sky & Falling for You
Hoffman never disappoints, do they? Such gorgeous leaf prints, with some bling to add interest. A customer came in just a few days ago to buy the lighter leaf fabric (bottom in photo) to use as her focus for the Vermont Fall Table Runner, one of our patterns. It's going to be stunning! The green and red prints are great textures for fall projects, holiday projects, or wherever you want to use them.
Aunt Grace
by Marcus Fabrics
Just a few pretty prints to add to our 30s collection. Everybody loves Scottie dogs (center in photo), and Kathy says a little bit of orange will make your quilt pop!
Penned Pals
from Ann Kelle
by Robert Kaufman
Oh, my goodness! These guys are so cute! And the possibilities are endless - baby quilts, pillows, burp cloths, dresses, overalls, curtains, and more. We have a feeling these prints won't last long! Batiks by Hoffman Our batik collection was a bit thin after VQF, so this shipment from Hoffman brightened things up and restocked us nicely. Lots of color and print to choose from - we love it when the batiks arrive!
Echo by Timeless Treasures These prints are from a pretty new blender line - sweet, small overall motifs that add interest but don't draw too much attention. These will be lovely in almost any project you're working on.
Spin
by Timeless Treasures We got a few fabrics from this line earlier this summer - they're wonderful to add to your kids' projects - a pop of color, and tiny dots for fun. See if you can work some of them into your next project - we bet you can! |
