August is here and summer is in full swing. There is much to enjoy and celebrate in this eighth month of the year.  First, consider joining a great group of women at our annual golf outing on August 17, whether you are a novice or pro, you will be sure to have a fun-filled afternoon!  Next, on Monday, August 21 there will be a Global Solar Eclipse. In Green Bay look for a Partial Solar Eclipse from 1:16 p.m. through 2:37 p.m.  Finally, Saturday, August 26 is Women's Equality Day, it is a day set aside to Honor Trailblazing Women.  It commemorates Congress passing the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granting women full and equal voting rights.

In August of: 
  • 1918, Opha Mae Johnson was the first woman to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
  • 1926, Gertrude Ederle became the first woman to swim across the English Channel
  • 1932, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the United States non-stop.
There are many women who have made an impact on history and continue to do so.  Who are the Trailblazing Women in your life?
