Central Committee Meeting Recap
The 94th annual Central Committee Meeting was held July 25-26 in Clayton, NY. 

Many important items were voted on by the committee including championship venue approvals for 2018-2020:

Girls Swimming and Diving-Ithaca College

Boys Volleyball-Albany Capital Center

Girls Gymnastics-Cold Spring Harbor High School

Other noteworthy items voted on were Football and Girls Volleyball classification numbers cut-offs for the Fall 2018 season, adding 2 minutes of playing time per period to Boys Ice Hockey, moving up the Modified sports start date, and revisions to the graduated scale for the combining of teams.


West Inducted into National High School
Hall of Fame
2016 NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame inductee Missy West was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame on June 25th as part of the Class of 2017.

West was chosen as the Induction Class Speaker to deliver the address for all eleven inductees. You can see here entire speech above.

Missy was a standout high school student-athlete at Franklin Academy in Section X.
Hazing Prevention Course Being Offered
NYSPHSAA, along with AliveTek and Having Prevention.org are offering a Hazing Prevention Course. 

The course costs $100 for up to 50 facilitators. If you have questions about the course or want more info, please contact Director of Special Programs Kristen Jadin

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Members Chosen for 2017-18
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is pleased to announce the members of the 2017-18 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

This year 13 new members will join the SAAC teaming with the nine returning members who served as juniors last year. Members were chosen based on an academic resume which included GPA, extracurricular activities, and participation in sports. In all, the SAAC is made up of two student-athlete representatives from each of the eleven sections in New York State.
