President's Message
"There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another. Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know."
William Bradfield
Donna Broderick

We thank those members who have volunteered their time for Impact 100 this past year. Whether you served on a CIRC, event planning, Focus Area, membership, marketing, or recruiting committee you have affected more than you realize and Impact 100 truly values your efforts! You demonstrate The Power of Women IMPACTing our Community.

We applaud the achievements of our most recent grant recipients as we prepare to award grants to FOUR new recipients. Last year's grant recipients - Greater Cincinnati Construction Foundation, Women's Crisis Center, St. Francis Seraph & Center for Respite Care, and Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship - have all begun to put their grant money into action, and are already making an IMPACT in the community.

We also commend the seven wonderful Finalists who have also achieved success because of their passion to reach out and changes lives. I encourage you to learn more about the Finalists and the transformational programs/projects they are proposing. The Executive Summaries of the seven Finalists are posted in the 'Members Only' section of our website. If you do not recall the password to access this confidential information you can contact our office at [email protected].

We are all excited for the 16 th Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 12 th at the Phoenix. Always the highlight of the Impact 100 year, you can listen to the Finalists as they speak about the transformation they dream of bringing to reality with the award of a grant. In addition, we encourage you to cast your vote, meet other Impact 100 members, thank our generous sponsors, enjoy a delicious meal, and then see which organizations are awarded our 2017 Grant Awards.  You won't want to miss this Awards Celebration - we will award FOUR grants of $101,000 each!!

We hope you are enjoying your Impact 100 experience, and that you choose to continue to make a difference in the community through your membership.  Please take a moment and renew your membership in the very near future.  We'd love to count on you for next year.

You can also help us by sharing your passion about the work Impact 100 does with others. Through your help we can reach our goal of awarding more grants in 2018 and continue to Create and IMPACT in our Community Together. We thank you for your assistance!

Your M embership in Action!
Ladies, Can you believe it?!  Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati, 2014 Grant Recipient, has submitted their final report to Impact 100.

LNGC is a fantastic example of our how our infusion of collectively pooled funds can meaningfully expand nonprofit programs that already exist (a common misconception is that we only fund new "things").

As relates to their initial goals, some notes:
  • The purpose of the $109,000 grant in 2014 from Impact 100 Greater Cincinnati to Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati was to reach new under-served audiences of children and adults with literacy programs via the opening of new hubs in Avondale and Price Hill.

  • LNGC completed marketing campaigns, offered child care as a resource to adult students, and offered 5 sessions of adult and children literacy programming over a two-year period (which is an additional class than the 4 classes initially proposed to Impact 100.)

  • At the end of the Impact 100 Adult Programming 2 classes of 12 students averaged a 1.5 grade level increase in work-attack skills!

  • All three Impact 100 funded children's program classes engaged 18 students.  Students who were in the class for two years averaged a 2.4 grade level increase in word attack skills! This exceeds the goal of 2-grade levels over two years. These are FANTASTIC gains for students struggling with reading. The classes helped many of these students catch up to grade level reading.
This is an amazingly deep program.  Congratulations LNGC on this work!

Who am I?
Hmm, interesting question. Often I would answer in a way that associates with something external or a role I have played in life. Who am I? I am a child of God. I attempt to love everyday and when I fail I will ask for forgiveness and try again. Authenticity is important to me.

What made me want to join Impact 100?
A couple of friends introduced me to Impact 100 and invited me to a couple of their events. It was the Annual Awards Celebration in 2012 that made it clear to me of Impact 100's mission. It clicked! What a brilliant idea! I could see the impact that Impact 100 was having and how it was making a difference in the community, changing many lives for the better. It was true, one could do more collectively than individually. From then on, it was very easy to be passionate about Impact 100's mission.

What keeps me a member of Impact?
It is the only organization that I am aware of that 100% of one's donation goes toward funding grant's awarded to other, well vetted, local non profits. I can be involved as much as I want or I can just write a check and vote every September! It's that simple.
I have witnessed Impact 100 as transformational, authentic and I am drawn to the mission.
