OET News
August 2017

August OET News is here!

August is National Golf Month and to celebrate I am offering free golf specific posture evaluations all month! See below for more details. In this newsletter, I've also included a great warm-up and cool-down for golfing. It will help you swing smoother and more consistently, stay pain free, and maybe even lower your score!

This newsletter also includes an article about idiopathic back pain and the dangers of epidural steroid injections for back pain. Remember most back pain can be quickly and effectively eliminated with Posture Alignment Therapy with OET.

Free Golf Specific Posture Evaluations
August is National Golf Month. Golf is all about technique, but proper technique can't be achieved if you have underlying posture imbalances. Come in for a free golf specific posture evaluation and discover what imbalances you have and how they are affecting your game. Correcting your posture will decrease your pain, improve your game, and drop your score. Contact me today to schedule your evaluation!
Golf Warm-up and Cool-down
Golf is a game of skill, technique, focus, confidence, balance, flexibility, strength, and power. Getting and keeping your body in postural balance allows you to use your talent and play to your full potential. This golf specific warm-up and cool-down will allow your body to perform better. Your body will feel the difference and your score will show the difference. Playing 9, 18, or 36 holes never felt so good! Watch golf warm-up & cool-down.
Idiopathic Back Pain
Idiopathic means of unknown cause and often of spontaneous origin. Idiopathic back pain is back pain that doctors cannot explain because there is not obvious structural cause of the pain like a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, or stenosis. Idiopathic back pain is the "diagnosis" given by doctors to patients that have chronic (over 6 months) back pain and they have been unable to figure out why.  There is always a reason why however...

Dangers of Epidural Steroid Injections for Back Pain
Epidural steroid injections (ESIs) are commonly known as "cortisone shots." They are a very common treatment for neck, back and limb pain and have become the most common procedure doctors do for low back pain - done nearly 9 million times a year. The FDA published a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) warning about the dangers of epidural steroid injections for neck, back and limb pain. These injections have never been FDA approved. Read the report.
Your free 30-minute appointment includes discussion of your  symptoms  and goals, posture evaluation, functional testing, and gait analysis. We will then discuss the different Posture Therapy options that are available to help you reach your goals.
