Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

Robert Lee Head of School |
This was one of the most difficult weeks of my time at Christ Covenant School. The reason was not what you may think. Everyone is enjoying summer, the classrooms are quiet, the school is set for next year, yet one task was before me that I have dreaded. That task was cleaning out the library to make space for another classroom.
I cannot explain the anguish this dilemma has caused. Our library staff for starters is the most caring, dedicated, compassionate and conscientious crew you will ever know. Both Mrs. Linda Bagley and Mrs. Elaine Fletcher have served our students by creating an orderly, inspiring space for them to come and check out books when needed. These ladies serve from the goodness of their hearts, from their love of learning, and from their dedication to the school in countless ways which we can never repay. Telling them the need to use the space for children and classrooms was the beginning of my sorrows.
From there, it only got worse. Boxing books, shuffling shelves, packing away copies of
Make Way for Ducklings, The Foot Book, The Morning Star of the Reformation weighed so heavy on my heart. Each book was like a piece of childhood being stored away.
My only consolation is the process, is that our school is prioritizing the lives and learning of young students in a way that makes space a premium. Adding a second grade class keeps our student to teacher ratio low and also helps us follow again the words of Jesus,
"Let the little children come to me." (Luke 18:16) People always seem to be His prize.
I don't know that there will be many books in heaven. I'm not sure there is a great library in the sky. But what I do know is that the young lives we teach to love Him will endure for eternity, and that one book, the Bible, will never fade away.
As the teachers return next week, the boxed books from the library will be divided up into their classrooms, hopefully, to continue the purpose for which they were designed. They will ever be signals to point us to God's wisdom and beauty in life, and ultimately impress upon the young souls in our school the timeless lessons and truths they contain.
So join me in briefly morning the library and honoring the servants that stocked her shelves, but also in prioritizing the living souls of our young students who are ultimately God's living epistles, "known and read by all men." (2 Cor. 3:2)

Summer Accomplishments |
Summer is here and while we're busy at work, the hallways are noticeably vacant of students. If your child has been recognized for special accomplishments, we would love to post them in the newsletter. We will try to post a couple each newsletter, space permitting. Send a picture and description of the accomplishment to Cindy Suter, [email protected].
