Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
Over the course of the past year and some time before that, our school board, consultants, Casey Breen, and Diocese of Winona School Superintendent Marsha Stenzel have been re-working our school by-laws. That extensive work has been completed and we are now putting the new by-laws into action. One of the first items to be acted upon was the structure of our school Board of Trustees. We have gone through a board restructuring process which resulted in the new makeup of our board:

A)     The Bishop of the Diocese of Winona
B)     The Pastors of the Catholic Parishes of Mankato and North Mankato
C)     A member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame
D)     Six lay persons from the Catholic Parishes of Mankato and North Mankato, or from neighboring Catholic Parishes appointed by the Bishop upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Here are the members of the LCS BoT for the school year 2017-2018:
A)     Bishop John M. Quinn, Diocese of Winona
B)     Fr. Timothy Reker, LCS Canonical Administrator, St. Joseph the Worker, Fr. Paul van de Crommert, Holy Rosary, Fr. John Kunz, St. John the Baptist and Fr. Mariano Varela IVE, Ss. Peter and Paul
C)     Sister Mary Kay Gosch, appointed by the SSND Provincial Leader
D)     Michelle Zehnder Fischer, Jennifer Fraze, Beth Johnson, Pat McDermott, Tim Murray,  and Gary Zellmer
All six lay members participated in an interview process and were appointed by Bishop Quinn. Jen Fraze, Tim Murray, and Gary Zellmer are all new members to the BoT and we thank all six members for their willingness to serve the school. We are excited about the blend of returning and new members as we move forward. At our Board meeting on September 14, Mrs. Marsha Stenzel will provide orientation for all members. We will continue to provide ongoing development for our Board and look forward to working together. Over the next month our BoT Executive Committee will be established and our committee charges will be completed. Please welcome our new Board of Trustees!
A huge heartfelt thanks to outgoing members Traci Lea Benzmiller, Bill Cahalan, Donn Vetter, Michael Bach and Mark Fredericks. They have given much time, energy and talents to our school over their terms and we thank them for sharing their gifts with us. We were truly blessed to have them on our BoT and appreciate their service to Loyola Catholic School.

Sincerely,
Adam Bemmels, Principal & School Leader
