Compliance Bundle Due Sept. 15
EMS ISD has developed a series of annual updates that meet district, state, or federal guidelines for ALL employees. Compliance trainings are bundled together in an online format through Eduphoria and have been released to all employees. This model allows the flexibility for employees to complete required training at their convenience while maintaining the integrity of the expectations.
The completion date is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, 2017.
Please print your certificate of completion to give to your supervisor for their records.
Professional Compliance Bundle: Teachers, counselors, principals, directors, superintendents, coordinators, diagnosticians, and all other instructional staff must complete the Professional Compliance Bundle.
Basic Compliance Bundle:
Para-professional staff will complete the Basic Compliance Bundle.

Board Calls November Bond Election
At a special-called meeting in August 2017, the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw (EMS) ISD Board of Education voted unanimously to call a $524.7 million bond election. The proposed referendum would have no impact on the school district tax rate. Registered voters will have the opportunity to vote in the bond election on November 7, 2017.

Important Website Information
On Thursday, EMS ISD staff were sent a notice that the district is moving back to the previous Schoolwires website over the holiday weekend. T
his decision was made after it was determined that, despite our best efforts, the new website
system was not equipped to handle the large volume of users and traffic on our website.
We realize
many of you spent time trying to learn the new system and working on your pages, and we thank you for your willingness to try to
make this transition. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating
and we believe it is better to go back to the previous site now than to continue to invest time, personnel, and budget into a system that we are no longer confident will fulfill our expectations as promised.
The Schoolwires site is still active in the background and individual pages should reflect the last updates that were made. Any updates made to the new website will not be reflected on the Schoolwires site. If you have questions, please contact your campus or department CTI. Communications and the CTIs will be working this weekend to assist with the transition. Thank you again for your patience as we work to return our website to a valuable resource for our staff and community.

Are you ready for the three-week Fall Wellness Challenge? During the challenge, you will become aware of how much added sugar you are consuming by making adjustments to stay within the American Heart Association's daily recommendation. At the end of the challenge, each participant will receive a compartmentalized food container. The challenge starts on Monday, Sept. 25, and ends on Monday, Oct. 16.

Employee Scholarship Applications
The EMS ISD Education Foundation Employee Scholarship Awards are established to assist district staff in pursuing college and specialty degrees or certifications that will enhance their skills to benefit the students of the district. Applications open on September 1 and must be completed and returned to the EMS ISD Education Foundation's new office at the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center by October 13, 2017. on of Certified Texas School Business Specialist (CTSBS) by the Texas A
ssociation of School Business Officials (TASBO).
TASBO certification is earned through a combination of specified coursework, school business experience, and training in the area of specialization. Once certification
is awarded, individuals are required to complete
60 hours
of continuing education every three years in order to maintain their certification.
