Rector's Discretionary Account
Your generous non-pledged offerings (cash and designated checks) on the first Sunday each month support our clergy's Discretionary Account. Frs. Muir and Jenkins use these funds to meet urgent needs within our community, to further the ministries of the church when other funds are not available, and to support community programs and institutions that serve those in need.
Donations to Episcopal Relief & Development
for Hurricane Harvey Response
Many have asked how we can help those dealing with the effects of the Gulf storm. Beyond our continuing prayers, Bishops in the dioceses of Texas and Louisiana request that you direct all support to Episcopal Relief and Development. ERD has been in routine contact with them since the storm path became clear in advance of landfall. Saint Paul's Outreach Committee has allocated a gift of $1000. Gifts can be made through the Saint Paul's website, directly on the ERD donation page for Hurricane Harvey , or your check payable to Saint Paul's with ERD noted in the memo line. We will send our gifts to them early next week.
Formation Classes This Sunday September 3
Godly Play -- Ages 4-7 or kindergarten thru 2nd grade
Leaders: Ginny Henson, Jennifer Marr, & Kim Butler Location: Room #2 Children's Ministry Center

ALL children inherently know God, but it is up to us to give them the language of the Christian faith so they can grow to make meaning of our faith in their own lives. Godly Play is a profound method rooted in Montessori principles that forms child spirituality by attending to their natural gifts for wonder and discovery. Children are greeted at the door of the Godly Play room by Ginny, the "door person." It is VERY important for parents to respect the boundary of the door threshold by not entering the children's sacred space--their Godly Play room. We cannot wait to welcome your children each Sunday!
SPARK -- Ages 8-10 or grades 3-5
Leader:  Coleman Graham
Location: Room #1, Children's Ministries Center

Our older children will again immerse themselves in SPARK, where they will work with the same themes and Scripture that we all encounter in common worship. Every lesson follows a four-part pattern: Gather, Open the Bible, Activate Faith, and Send. Week after week, the children and their leaders gather together, explore the Scriptures, enjoy one another's company, pray, and discover God's presence in their midst.
My Faith - My Life -- grades 6-12
Leader: Ranie Neislar
Location: Youth Room, Upstairs Parish House

Youth Formation begins this Sunday.  But first, breakfast to get the morning going!

Additional youth announcements are sent out in the Youth Newsletter and through a "Remind" text. If you have any questions or need to be added to the group text for reminders about youth events, please email Ranie.
ADULT FORMATION- video & conversation series

Sunday, September 17th  will be a day of celebration, joy and renewal. The day begins with a service at Good Shepherd, Pennick where Deaconess Anna Alexander, a Saint in Georgia, served. Later in the day we will gather under a large tent on the grounds of Honey Creek Retreat Center and the Most Rev. EYC (Grades 6-12) Register for Fall Youth Conference:
Growing in Faith and Love, Honey Creek
Friday, September 15 - Sunday, September 17

In conjunction with the Presiding Bishop's Visit, the Diocese is offering a youth weekend for young people in grades 6-12 at Honey Creek. We will explore Bishop Curry's theme "Fearless Faith, Boundless Love" from the perspective of Growth and Renewal. The Presiding Bishop has time on his schedule to spend just with our youth on Saturday evening, and on Sunday morning we will travel to Good Shepherd, Pennick, to participate in the Eucharist held there in honor of Deaconess Alexander.

We will then return to Honey Creek for the Revival on Sunday afternoon, and our youth will be part of the group hosting and leading this much larger event.

Because this event is longer than usual, and involves travel expenses, the cost of this event is $150 per person. However, cost should never be an obstacle to attendance! If cost is a concern, please contact the Rev. Joshua Varner, Diocesan Missioner for Youth. If you would like to apply for scholarship, please go ahead and register to reserve your space, paying only the 1/3 deposit of $50.

Ranie Neislar will be accompanying a group with the convocation.   Register Here for transportation to Honey Creek with the Augusta Convocation. Register here for the Fall Youth Conference. NOTE:  Be sure to register for both transportation with the convocation and register for the conference with the Diocese of GA.
