Dawna J. Colbert Scholarship
Dawna J. Colbert was an integral part of the TCGi Team. In addition to being our SAP expert and key member of the eProcure™ development team, she led TCGi's volunteer efforts including Elijah's Promise, the Franklin Food Drive and the 2016 Christmas Toy Drive.

Dawna passed away in May after a tough fight against cancer.  In honor of her extraordinary life and service, TCGi is setting up:

The Dawna J. Colbert Scholarship
whose purpose is:  

To provide funds for female and/or minority college students
desiring to study Computer Science, IT or Engineering.

Fundraising for the scholarship will begin once 501(c)(3) status has been granted (IRS pending). Pledges can be given now, please email eshelton@technologyconcepts.com with your pledge amount.

 

Dawna’s 9 year old grandson has pledged the first dollar to honor his "Nana". Check back on our website for future updates.  


Dawna was an avid runner and cyclist. On October 21st, her birthday, a 5K will be run in her honor. Details to follow.

Recent Events, Near & Far

TCGi has been involved and connected with many important and exciting events in the Spring and beginning of Summer of 2017.

Supply Nation, Connect 2017-Sydney (photo above) was a procurement & supply chain conference held in Sydney Australia on May 3rd and 4th.  TCGi CEO, Avis Yates Rivers was on a panel entitled "Going Global" discussing the new supply chain dynamics of global connectivity. Supply Nation certifies indigenous-owned companies in Australia.

ServiceNow's Knowledge 17 conference in Orlando May 7th -11th featured several important topics including automation, which is changing the way organizations are doing business. Avis keynoted the breakfast and served on a panel discussing women in technology. See photo below. All attendees of the breakfast received a copy of Avis's book.

WBENC’s 20th Anniversary National Conference & Business Fair-Looking Back to the Future held in Las Vegas June 20th – 23rd and featured a Q&A with Octavia Spencer of Hidden Figures. A pic of our sales team at our business fair booth can be seen below.

Chicago Business Opportunity Fair (NMSDC Chicago Chapter)  was held on April 20th in Chicago. It celebrated a historic 50th year as the nation's first and region’s largest conference and trade fair. More than 2,000 corporate executives, minority business owners and government officials attend annually. 

WBENC Summit & Salute was held In New Orleans March 20th - 23rd and featured Tamron Hall as one of the keynote speakers (see photo below).
Book Award & Signing 
Necessary Inclusion, Embracing the Changing Faces of Technology, written by Avis Yates Rivers, was a finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the category of Multicultural Non-Fiction.  

The Gaithersburg Book Festival held on May 20th featured more than 100 best-selling and award-winning authors. Avis was one of the many authors participating in a book signing session. Check out the pic in the photo section below of all the authors' signatures.
