September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that:
  • Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the U.S.
    • Two-thirds of childhood cancer patients will have long lasting chronic conditions from treatment.
One way to bring attention to the need for additional funding and research for childhood cancer is by focusing on our Childhood Cancer Heroes.  Lilly is currently a student in our PK and a Regina Coeli Parishioner.  She is a survivor of  rare form of cancer known as retinoblastoma.  When she was 2, Lilly had a large tumor growing and seeding in her left eye.  Lilly underwent treatment and currently has NED (no evidence of disease).  She regularly has follow up tests, appointments and procedures to make sure that she stays healthy.  We are so proud of her courage and strength!  Please keep Lilly and her family in your prayers!

School Cancellations and Delays

As mentioned at Open House, we follow Washington Local for school closings and delays.  If there is a delay, there will be no AM EXT DAY or AM preschool/PK.  There are several ways to learn of a delay or closing.  Chose the system that works for you.

1. Look for "Washington Local" delays or closings on the news or via news station alerts.
2. Sign up for Ohio Alert to receive alerts specific to delays and closings.
3. Sign up for  Remind to have alerts sent to you via text or email about delays/closings, event
reminders like picture day, field trips, special activities etc.
4. Check FB for updates

Please note that while we would love to accommodate "make up days" for days off due to illness, vacation, holiday, teacher work days, snow days and other days off, we are unable to do so.  We must maintain ratios and our student rosters that we have for every moment that your child is in school.

If you need to add a day due to a family circumstance, please call the office.  Added days are $25 per full day/ $15 per half day.

There will be times during the year when all students will be invited to attend school for parties, field trips and other events.  More information on special occasions will be coming soon.

Welcome to Mrs. L's and Ms. A's class new student Mason!
