Letter from the President

The 2018 race season may be winding down, but the TTT sure isn't! There are several races coming up in September and October to round out the season, including the final race of the TTT Race Series, the NC State Triathlon Championships at Lake Townsend. We'll be riding and running the course over the next couple of weekends leading into the race, so come join us for a preview to know what the course is going to throw at you on race day. Good luck to all of the racers to the NC State Triathlon Championship, and any other races coming up in September as well!
If you haven't noticed, we just rolled out a big change with our membership system as well. We've gone online with RunSignup! We're hoping this process will prove to be easy for all of our members to use. It's the same system that Trivium uses for their races, so most all of us already have accounts to begin with. It is a new system, so we'd love to get some feedback on how it works and if we need to make any adjustments or tweaks to it.
We're also working on setting up some activities for the fall, winter, and spring. Some of these will be for members only, and some will be open to the public for free or for a small fee. Activities we're working on include a run clinic with some coaching, YMCA brick workout mornings similar to what we did last year but expanded to some other YMCA locations, and another swim clinic in the spring. If there's something you'd like to see us take on, please let us know!

DAVID JONES!

Meet Dave! He is not only an awesome road cyclist, but he is usually out mountain biking as well. He participates in many mountain bike races, usually with a podium finish.  Dave has been active in tri's for over three years and also supports his tri-active wife, Neala. Oh yeah, he's Neala's hubbie! His best racing tip is, "in the race when it hurts, that is when I push harder (to a point) because that is where others will slow down
(usually up hills and just over the top of a hill, etc.)".
If you see Dave, congratulate him on being this month's AOM!

Team Meeting at Joymongers, Wednesday , September 7th.

For our September team meeting, we'll be gathering at Joymongers where Merritt from Recycles Bike Shop will be giving a clinc on bike maintenance. You'll be getting lots of great information on keeping your bike in good working order between rides, as well as minor tweaks, adjustments, and repairs that you can do on your own. Bring along your front tire and your air pump so you can practice changing and inflating your tire. We'll have extra CO2 cartridges on hand so you won't have to use your own.

The maintenance clinic will be starting at about 6:30, but we'll be meeting up around 5:30 to run in the neighborhoods in North Greensboro right nearby Joymongers, around Fisher Park. Because we'll be running on sidewalks around neighborhood streets, the distance can be changed to suit your needs. Plan to run for about 30 minutes, to give yourself some time to cool down and grab a drink before the clinic if you need one.

Hope to see you there!
