Ways to Offer Hurricane Harvey Relief

Bishop Webb has asked our churches to take an offering for Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief; please watch for when your church will do this. If you would prefer to make an individual donation, please make your check to UNYAC and put "Fund #481-Harvey Disaster Relief" in the note line and mail to the Conference Center.
Another way to help is with Cleaning Kits (Flood Buckets). Harris Hill UMC is a local drop off point for all UMCOR items. Here is information from Pastor Katie Zettle - 
We have all watched the news and seen the unimaginable amount of rain falling in the South, maybe you have wondered, "what can I do?" Each person can be a part of ministering to our brothers and sisters in Texas and Louisiana. Bishop Webb has called for us as people of Christ to be in daily prayer for all those affected. We can then build cleaning buckets and health kits - ALL KITS can be delivered 
YEAR ROUND to Harris Hill UMC at 8495 Main St, Williamsville. If you or a group from your church would like to participate in packing and verifying cleaning buckets and health kits, please let us know by email: [email protected]  or by calling 716-632-4688. The office is open Tuesday-Thursday-Friday from 8:30am-2pm. We can accept buckets in the evening but need to know when you will be dropping off. 

***I would also ask each church to pray for the people of India, Bangladesh and Nepal as monsoon rains have flooded southeast Asia, killing 1200 and leaving 40 million people affected. With the lack of infrastructure, and the loss of homes, schools, hospitals and roads there is great need there as well ***
 
UMCOR will no longer be collecting layette, birthing, sewing or bedding kits. If you have any of these in your building please bring them to Harris Hill UMC so we can transport for the last shipments to Sager Brown. 
-- UMCOR WILL ONLY COLLECT: cleaning buckets, hygiene (health) kits and school kits as of this fall. Please share this information with your missions team.
