OSHA Electronic Recordkeeping Requirements Extended

Did you know?

OSHA's new electronic recordkeeping rule requires employers to electronically submit injury and illness data that they are already required to record on OSHA Injury and Illness forms.

The original July 1, 2017 compliance date has been extended to December 1, 2017.

What can you do?

Recording this information on OSHA Injury and Illness forms is already required, the change is in terms of how this data is reported to OSHA and what the overall benefits of this change means to all. OSHA believes this change in reporting will improve safety for workers because it will force companies to focus on safety, which in turn will protect workers and ultimately improve companies' reputations and finances.

How can you learn more?

Remember: ensuring you have a safe and healthful workplace is more than the law, it is the right thing to do.
