Worship with Us this Week!
Join us for Traditional Worship at 9:30am and/or Informal Worship at 11:00am
where our scripture passages will be Exodus 3:1-12, Psalm 105:1-6 and Romans 12:9-21 with a sermon entitled We Have Work to Do.  God lays out what God wants to do because of the needs of the people and then  tells Moses to make it happen - God wants/needs us to act. What is God  asking us/you to do? The Romans passage gives us some clear direction.

Gather with us at our open communion table as we receive blessing upon blessing in sacred simple meal.

Help us welcome Janet Spencer, guest organist, at 9:30am

It's Give-a-Meal Sunday. Bring your dry/canned goods to share with the needy.

If you haven't seen the Heritage Room recently please walk down and marvel at the beauty of the new space. It looks spectacular and we have much to be grateful for. Miriam academy was responsible for painting the walls and adding the new carpeting, both of which were wonderful additions to a space that needed a touch of updating. Kris McKenzie and Joyce Ruiz then stepped in and spearheaded a project to update the kitchen area for a more functional and fabulous look. They even added a dishwasher for ease of cleaning up and a larger refrigerator. In addition to Joyce and Kris we would like to thank the following for their help with a project that was surely needed and will be much appreciated. John Ruiz, Marsha Peek, Pam Walker, Q Watkins, Andrew Wessel, Tyler Wessel, Michelle and Brad Brueggemann, and Pete Eggebrecht. The above group helped with tearing out old cabinets, purchasing and assembling new cabinets, installation of new electrical requirements, or oversight of paid contractors. Shopping for new furniture was done by Marsha Peek, Donna Fauss and Joyce Ruiz with Roger and Donna offering to re-hang pictures. A hearty thank you to all for whatever part you played in making the Heritage Room a showcase for many years to come!

Inspiration
You learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying, to run by running, to work by working; and just so, you learn to love by loving. All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves. -Saint Francis de Sales

Humor
Parent: Do you know, most people don't have to work today, because it's Labor Day.

Child: If people are not working, shouldn't we call today 'No-Labor Day?'
