Frisco Tech Talks
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Scheef & Stone, LLP, will host Frisco "Tech Talks." This Technology Summit will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Keynote speakers are  Charlie Vogt, CEO of Imagine Communications and Aaron Thibault, Vice President of Strategic Operations for Gearbox Software. HURRICANE HARVEY HOTLINE
Texans always unite at times like this. TAB (Texas Association of Business) has established a hotline for businesses to connect to the resources they need as the rebuilding begins. The hotline can be reached at (512) 637-7714 and is available to all businesses and not just limited to TAB members. More information can be found HERE .

If your business has a branch or location affected by the hurricane or if you know other business owners and leaders in affected communities, please share this information.
BUSINESS RECOVERY TEAM
The Texas Association of Business (TAB) and Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) have partnered to develop a Business Recovery Team.  The BRT, a "Chamber Strike Team" if you will, is made up of business leaders and chamber professionals, that are mobilizing to provide the response and comprehensive effort necessary as a business community to assist our colleagues and the businesses they serve in recovery and rebuilding. 

The Frisco Chamber of Commerce will join in this effort by being connected with and directly assisting one or more hurricane affected chambers and communities.

Frisco Independent School District

Texting-While-Driving Ban
A new statewide texting-while-driving ban goes in to effect on Friday, September 1, 2017.

The signed bill will prohibit drivers from texting while driving, including reading, sending or writing a text message-unless the driver is stopped. Read More...

Sixth Professional Sports Teams in Frisco

The  Texas Revolution, a professional indoor football league, officially announced its move to Frisco.

The Texas Revolution makes the sixth professional sports team to be headquartered in Frisco. The Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, Frisco RoughRiders and Texas Legends are also located in Frisco. Read More...

Governmental Affairs and Advocacy Efforts
Government Affairs has been following the special session of the state legislature in Austin.  We have been working diligently to continue to advocate for the issues on our legislative agenda.  We will continue to work with our state legislators in the interim.  

Please mark your calendars for the legislative luncheon, "Open & Uncensored - What did and didn't happen in the 85th Legislature," November 14, 2017.  We will hear from elected officials in our region on their wins and losses at the state level.  More information HERE.

Gamers Give Back
The National Videogame Museum in Frisco plans to raise funds for Hurricane Harvey relief by donating half of all admission sales collected this Saturday, September 2, 2017 to the United Way of Greater Houston. More information about National Videogame Museum can be found HERE.
Neighborhood Block Party
