During the 19th century, Russia's tsars created a web of connections with their subjects, fellow rulers, and the world at large.  To solidify their hold on power, the tsars created a series of rituals, gifts, and formal acknowledgements.  The personal impact of the Russian tsars, as well as their role as heads of state and culture, can be traced through these connections and the artifacts left behind.  Join Carol Rudie, Outreach Coordinator at the Museum of Russian Art, for a glimpse into the fascinating history of the Romanovs.

Protect Your Privacy
September 21st, 6:00-8:00 pm

From social media, to email to search engines, modern life leaves digital footprints everywhere we go. This class will offer an overview of the basic concepts of online security, how to browse anonymously, and encryption use. Discover the tools and techniques you need to protect your online information. Presented by Twin Cities Media Alliance and funded by MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency).

Identity Theft
September 27th, 2:00-4:00 pm

What would you do if your identity were stolen? Knowing what to do is important because an identity thief can hijack your tax refund, alter your medical records, and prevent you from getting credit or a job. This class covers what identity theft is, how to protect your identity and avoid identity theft, and provides clear action steps to take if it happens to you. Presented by Twin Cities Media Alliance and funded by MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency).
