CAJM is ...
Jewish art and history museums, historic sites, historical and archival societies, Holocaust centers, synagogue museums, Jewish Community Center galleries, children's museums, and university galleries ... the professionals and volunteers who work in them ...  the children, adults, and families who visit them ...  the patrons who support them ...  the organization that keeps them vital.

NEXT CONFERENCE IN DC
CAJM is thrilled to announce that its next conference will be held in the nation's capital, Washington, DC. Program Chairs Marsha Semmel, Zachary Levine, and Juliana Ochs Dweck will frame important conversations about our institutions' role in society, our civic responsibilities, our ability to empower audiences, and the complexities of national narratives. The vast museum resources of DC are sure to make this a rich and meaningful conference. Mark your calendars for
February 25-27, 2018!

History in UCLA's History Department and taught at the University for  25 years. He began his new duties at the Center on July 1st. ... He comes to the museum after positions at the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Louisiana State Museum, and the National World War II Museum, most recently as its Director of Education.

SUPPORT MUSEUM FUNDING
Though subcommittees of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee passed their annual funding legislation for agencies such as  IMLS, NEA, and NEH with only small reductions, this is just an early step. There will be further votes on the budget by the two Appropriations Committees and the full House and Senate. AAM and eight other organizations have organized a field-wide letter to Congress in support of Federal programs and agencies that help us serve our communities. More than 525 museums have already added their names. If you have not done so, AAM has made it simple via this link. The deadline to sign on to the letter is this Friday, July 21.
