New Hope Celebrates 50 Years
50 years ago a small group of committed people were led by God to plant a holiness church in Princeton, IL. Because of their faith and the faith of so many to follow, New Hope COTN celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 11th and ended the celebration with a mortgage burning. God made a way for the 30 year mortgage (for the new building) to be paid off in 11 years. There were three charter members present who had the joy of seeing the fruit of their faith celebrated all these years later. Charter members names: Ralph Biddix, Faith Carlson, Becky Detwiler

ROCKFORD FIRST
We are excited to share with you that the ladies at Rockford First Church made 53 Shawls for General Assembly.   We were so honored to be a part of this special program.  On May 21st Pastor Paul Simmonds lead us in a Prayer March as each person in the service laid hands on every shawl as we prayed for the person that would receive one of them.  We prayed that they would feel the Holy Spirit and that Spirit would be felt by everyone that they come in contact with once they return home.  Thanks to the ladies at Rockford First that help with this project.

PEKIN FIRST
Over 70 shawls were crocheted by the "crochet ladies" at PFN. The first batch was mailed, second batch was delivered by Renee Kindle and the third batch has hand delivered by Cheryl Sherwood.

The women below were asking for shawls and were told that all the shawls donated had been handed out. At that moment Cheryl walked in with the last few shawls that PFN had made. She had exactly what they needed. They put them on immediately and were very thankful to be warm.

Thank you PFN crochet ladies for sharing your talents with our sisters world wide.

-Ministry Call-
NMI with the collaboration of NYI and SDMI has been trying to compile a list of children and youth who have expressed a call into ministry. The goal of NMI's Ministry Call is to educate, inform and guide those children and youth called into ministry get as much help in following through with those calls. Being able to pray for them by name and introducing them to opportunities to develop in their particular area of ministry.

If you know of a student who feels called into ministry please let Ronda Hollars know by giving her a call at 815-875-1900
or by email Ronda Hollars
Sunday School Discipleship International

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20

As you are going,
THINK BIG: Every relationship, every interaction, all inclusive.

And make disciples,
START SMALL: You. Be one. Be a Christ-like disciple. Re-present Jesus.

Baptizing them, immersing them in Jesus,
GO DEEP: Pray. Empty yourself. Sacrifice.

Freedom Sunday

Over the past three years, more than 400 Nazarene congregations around the world have participated in Freedom Sunday, a day set aside for prayer, worship, and support around the crisis of human trafficking, which enslaves as many as 45.8 million people globally, according to the  2016
Global Slavery Index.

This year, Nazarene churches are encouraged to participate in Freedom Sunday on September 24, 2017, the last Sunday of that month.

The Church of the Nazarene's participation in Freedom Sunday began in 2014 in coordination with other denominations within the Wesleyan Holiness Connection (formerly Wesleyan Holiness Consortium). That same year, the Church of the Nazarene's Board of General Superintendents endorsed the Declaration for Freedom, a document drafted by the Wesleyan-Holiness leaders, including Nazarene representatives.

In the past, Freedom Sunday took place on the first Sunday of Lent. This year, the event was moved to the last Sunday of September to enable churches that plan traditional Lenten services to participate.

Congregations are encouraged to plan a Freedom Sunday at any time that works in their calendar. Freedom Sunday planning resources are available as free downloads through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries at ncm.org/freedomsunday.

Funding the Mission
For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Together, we've accomplished so much in our first 100 years. Join us on a journey into the next 100 years and partner with the Church of the Nazarene to make Christlike disciples in the nations. In our new plan for Funding the Mission, the World Evangelism Fund is the vehicle through which we deliver the message of hope - and your church drives our mission more than ever before.
Organic Coaching
Organic Church Planting is on the Move!!

Two years ago, a group of 4 organic church planters (Nathan & Sara Rodehaver, John & Becky Evans, Laura Mata-Bolandi, and Jake & Rebecca Crowley) began a journey with Coach Darrell MacLearn from New Church Specialties. From that initial effort, a number (exact number is unknown) of churches were planted of which three were officially registered. And now, a second wave has begun! That initial group of four has now brought together 24 more planters whom they will be coaching over the next two years as the movement multiplies across Northwestern Illinois and around the world. Nathan Rodehaver led the first training session for this new group of planters which was held at River Chapel in Rockton, IL on May 19-20. They will continue to meet quarterly over the next two years for training and coaching as they plant where God leads them. Let's commit to pray for these new planters and the work that God is calling them to accomplish for His Kingdom. As you pray, ask the Lord of the harvest if there is a part of this work that He would have you to join.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Luke 10:2 NIV

Nazarene Publishing House News

Beginning in February 2018, Nazarene Publishing House will commence doing business in North America as The Foundry Publishing. The rebranding will allow NPH to expand its market reach in order to impact a broader audience with the Wesleyan-Holiness message, according to CEO Mark D. Brown. Internationally, the Nazarene Publishing House brand will remain in place.

"The primary focus of NPH will always be the Church of the Nazarene," Brown said. "But just as Saul's name became Paul in order to evangelize the Gentiles, we also feel some changes are necessary in order to reach beyond our denominational borders.
