UNF is moving to Canvas
Canvas is a next-generation LMS that will provide the UNF community with improved stability and functionality. Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 courses will be available in Blackboard or Canvas.

Visit the Canvas Transition site for more information.
Canvas Integrations
A new plagiarism tool is available in Canvas for the fall semester. Vericite   is a cloud-based service that identifies plagiarism by comparing submitted work against a database of sources. For more information, visit our Vericite KB article.   UNF SafeAssign submissions through July 2016 have been loaded into Vericite.

The myWings Grade Transfer tool will be available for use in the Fall semester, but clicker integration will not be available until the Spring semester.

Video in Canvas
Canvas has native support for instructor recording and publishing media, student media assignment submission, and audio and video commenting on assignments. For more information on media publishing, see the Instructor Guide .

Note: Video uploaded to Canvas, either through Files or the Record/Upload Media option, is not secured behind the Canvas login and can be shared publicly as described here .

Fall Courses Available
Your Fall courses are now available in Canvas! Term-based courses will be created automatically in Canvas - no request process needed. Student enrollments are in place, but courses are not visible to students until the instructor  publishes the course. Instructors will notice that multiple sections of the same course have been combined into a single course. Instructors can combine and break apart sections in Canvas directly in their courses. Directions for managing course sections are available   here.

During the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters, instructors may choose to use either Blackboard or Canvas to deliver their courses. In order to minimize student confusion, please send clear and frequent communication to students about which platform your courses will use each semester during the transition.

Course Migration Options
CIRT is offering several options to help you move your term-based course content into Canvas. For more information visit the Course Migration Options page.

Updates in the 8-6-16 Production Release
Canvas releases changes to its production environment every 3 weeks, including new features, updates to existing features, and bug fixes.

Instructors can now exclude assignments from a student's final grade and save comments as drafts in SpeedGrader. This release also brings a SpeedGrader interface update for instructors, though no functionality has been affected. For more information, see the release notes
