LETTER FROM MRS. RYAN
Dear Parents,

Your children seem very happy to be back in school and I am enjoying becoming reconnected with each of them. On Friday at 9:30 AM Fr. Denis will celebrate our first school Mass of new the year.  All parents are cordially invited to attend.

Many of you have known our PE teacher, Garrett Fleming, who has been employed at St. Rose for the past 15 years. Garrett was recently offered a fabulous opportunity which will lead to a solid career in construction. I know this is truly what is best for Garrett and his family and that it is time for him to move into this new phase in his life. He would have preferred to give us more notice, but it was necessary for him to grab this opportunity immediately. Although he will always remain in the St. Rose family, Monday was his last day of work with us. Garrett has served our students in many different capacities - - extended care, teacher aide, yard duty, PE teacher, PA system technician, and tall guy.  The legacy he leaves with our students is the value of fitness, service, humor, and fun.

St. Rose has been very blessed to find someone to fill Garrett's shoes so quickly. Austin Calos began today as our new PE teacher. He will also assist in our junior high math program and with lunchtime and after school supervision. Austin recently graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga with a degree in Kinesiology and has experience running summer sports camps for school age children.  Best of all, Austin has a strong grasp of how we do things at St. Rose since he spent nine years here as a student. What a joy it has been to welcome back one of our graduates in this manner.
