New, LPA, secondary students enjoy a time of socializing and building new friendships at the last new student specific summer event. The large group ate lunch together at Rey Atzeca's in Lake Wylie before lacing up for a few rounds of bowling.

Focusing on Writing
The last two sections of IEW parent and student training were held this past week. During these trainings, instructor Ali Salmon introduced new co-teachers and students to the basics of the Institute for Excellence in Writing program used in Lake Pointe's third through eighth grades. Additionally, parents were exposed to the Shirley English curriculum. This week's section for the third through seventh grades was one of the largest trainings for the summer totaling in twenty attendees!
Secondary Student Life Events
With only three weeks left in the summer, secondary students will have two chances to reconnect with their peers. The first event will be a potluck dinner and field games held at the LPA campus Monday, July 17 from 5 to 7 pm. The second event will be a bonfire hosted at the Miller household (1815 Sherrer rd, York SC 29745) on Monday, July 24 from 7 to 9 pm. All secondary students and faculty are invited to both events. Elementary Student Life Event
Lake Pointe will be hosting a Fun in Foam slip 'n slide extravaganza and potluck dinner for elementary students and parents Thursday, July 20 from 5:30-8pm at the LPA campus. For more details, see our Activity Details page.
