Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to introduce myself as the new principal of St. John Paul II Regional Catholic School. I had the opportunity to meet some of you at the end of May at the parents meeting held in the parish center. I have heard good things about the school and I want you to know that I am very excited to be at St. John Paul II and I look forward to meeting all of you and your students.

I am a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who spent 30 years in uniform. I hold Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physical Education from Southern Connecticut State University and a 6th year degree in Educational Administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Upon my retirement from the Army I spent eight years as the principal of Holy Family School in Fairfield, CT. For the last six years I was the principal at Sacred Heart School in Groton, CT.

Communication between the school and our families is very important to me and is essential to having a true cohesive school community. Having reached out to you please know that you can contact me to discuss any issues or ideas that you may have. I also ask you to be patient as I will be meeting individuals from the various school organizations over the next month or so as well as meeting with public school personnel, civic organizations, Middletown Deanery parishes, and our Catholic high schools.

Again, I am very excited to be here and I look forward to the beginning of the school year and working with all of you to continue to grow and enrich the St. John Paul II community.

Please enjoy the rest of your summer and may God Bless you and your families.

Sincerely,

Larry Fitzgerald, BS, MS, 6th Year
