Religious Education News
Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton

RE Mission
Our religious education program works
to create an accepting environment that empowers children and youth to explore their spirituality, celebrate diversity, and live our Unitarian Universalist values.
Family Ministry
We believe that families play a vital role in furthering this empowerment to explore and live our UU values. We are excited to support our families by offering ideas from the UUA's Tapestry of Faith program as well as graces and thought provoking questions related to the topics introduced during Sunday religious education classes. We hope you find this new initiative enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling for your whole family.
In RE Next Week
Our summer programming continues, Jedi Academy will be exploring our 5th UU principle and play a game to understand the difference between an empire and democracy.

For the Week of July 23, 2017
A Table Grace:
From forest and stream, from mountain and fields, from the fertile Earth's nourishing yields, I now partake of the Divine Energy; may it lend me health, strength, and love.
~ Pagan tradition
A Chalice Lighting:
Many of the truths we cling to depend on our point of view.
~ Obi-Wan Kenobi, Return of the Jedi
This Sunday Jedi Academy continued.  We discussed ties with your our 4th UU principle - free and responsible search for truth and meaning.  They created their own spiritual symbol.
Family Discussion - During a shared meal, discuss: How does your family deal with questions? Did adults or older youth in the family ask many questions when they were children? When younger people in the family ask questions, do adults or older youth try to answer them? Is there a family member who is the "go to" person for answers?
Body Prayer: Take a few moments to embody this prayer/song of sending love to our natural world, ourselves and others.
