COUNTY PLUMBING & ELECTRICAL BOARDS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (July 20, 2017) - The Washington County Board of County Commissioners are accepting applications for the Plumbing and Electrical Boards.
 
The Electrical Apparatus and Wiring Board of Examiners and Supervisors of Washington County is currently looking to fill one position.  The position is for an individual who is duly licensed as a master electrician doing business in Washington County.
 
The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m.  Membership is comprised of five individuals familiar with the electrical industry.  Additionally, members must be County residents for at least five years as well as a registered Washington County voter.  
 
The Board makeup is as follows:
  • One member of an electric public utility company doing business in Washington County
  • Two members must be duly licensed master electricians in the County
  • One member shall be appointed at-large
  • A fifth member may be designated by the Washington County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and shall be an active member of a volunteer fire company in the County
The Board examines the qualifications and capabilities of individuals who are engaged or desire to engage in the business of a master electrician. This is a paid Board with members serving two-year terms.
 
The Plumbing/HVAC Board of Washington County is currently looking to fill two positions:
  • An individual who is duly licensed as a master plumber doing business in Washington County.
  • An individual who is selected as a member at large.
The Board meets the first Monday every other month at 3 p.m.  Membership is comprised of seven individuals familiar with the plumbing/HVAC industry.  Additionally, members must be County residents of the County.
 
The Board makeup is as follows:
  • Two members shall be master plumbers
  • Two members must hold a valid Maryland HVAC Master's License
  • Two members shall be selected from the public
  • One member shall represent the building industry
The Board enforces the rules and regulations for the plumbing and HVAC trade or business in Washington County as well as issues relating to the licensing and registration of Plumbing and HVAC Contractors doing business in Washington County and recommends amendments to the Washington County Plumbing and Mechanical Codes. This is a paid Board with members serving three-year terms.
