You Are Invited!


Come celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association, on the 5th of August, at Deception Pass State Park.
 
This all-day event will feature many fun all-ages activities, with two interpretive hikes on the PNT in the park, a pop-up history exhibit and an amphitheater film screening.  In the evening of the 5th, there will be a very special presentation, by Ron Strickland, prolific author and founder of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association.

Guided Hike Series: Kettle Crest via Sherman Pass
July 15th, 9am - 1pm

Please join us for a hike on the Kettle Crest Trail #13 on Saturday, July 15th from 9 AM to 1:00 PM. On this 5.5 mile hike, we will hike around Sherman Peak, exploring an area recovering from the 1988 White Mountain Fire. While enjoying the abundant wildflowers and panoramic vistas, we will learn about the forces which shaped the Kettle Crest: the wildfires, the geology, and the wildlife that give the Kettle Crest its unique nature.

The fifth in a series of guided hikes this summer, this event is brought to you through a partnership between the Pacific Northwest Trail Association, the Mt. Adams Institute and AmeriCorps

 
 

Guided Hike Series: Columbia Mountain Lookout
July 15th, 9am - 2pm

Please join us for a hike to the Columbia Mountain Lookout on Saturday, July 22nd from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On this 7 mile hike, we will hike the Kettle Crest north to the Columbia Mountain Lookout, a fire lookout cabin constructed in 1914. On our way to the summit, we will learn about the role of fire in the ecology of the Kettle Crest, as well as hear the tales of the 1988 White Mountain Fire and the Great Fire of 1910.
