ROCKY GAP - AHEC West recently hosted its Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony, honoring area health professionals who go above and beyond to serve residents of Western Maryland and surrounding counties.
Held at Rocky Gap Casino Resort, the June 20 event featured 11 awards recognizing nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians, psychologists, and other outstanding health professionals.
Susan Stewart, executive director of AHEC West, commended the award winners, saying they serve as exemplary role models and mentors for others who strive to meet the region's pressing healthcare needs. "These health professionals are the best of the best," she said. "We are deeply honored to recognize their contributions to the quality of life in our Appalachian region."
