Did You Know?
CCTS welcomes Dr. Matthew Might, who has joined the Hub as the inaugural director of the Hugh Kaul Personalized Medicine Institute. Might, who holds a PhD in computer science from Georgia Tech, brings a unique vision for precision medicine to UAB, which includes understanding the genetic drivers of an individual's disease and using computational technologies such as genomic sequencing to tailor treatment based on that input. He has a strong interest in drug repurposing as well.  More

Mark Your Calendar for CCTS Biomedical Informatics Half-Day Immersion Course
CCTS and the UAB Informatics Institute will cohost this half-day "speed session" on Thur. July 27, providing an overview of key biomedical informatics topics such as re-use of health data, bioinformatics, clinical terminologies, and data organization and structure. Registrants will receive materials prior to the event. 
Have fun while mastering required NIH policies for rigor, reproducibility, and transparency (R2T) in our online Kaizen game! The next round of this highly popular approach to learning competencies will run July 17-Aug. 7. Kaizen R2T is open to players at any professional level across the CCTS Partner Network.  More

UAB-HudsonAlpha Genomic Medicine PostDoctoral Training Program Request for Applications
The purpose of this training grant is to recruit postdoctoral trainees from various disciplines and provide mentorship and clinical research training in genomic medicine.  Postdoctoral trainees will receive a monthly stipend, tuition and fees assistance, health insurance and travel funds.   More
